In Court Rooms today high quality sound production and recording equipment is being installed. Unless the room is treated against unwanted echo the quality of the recording can be compromised.
Here Serenity Decorative Acoustic panels have been installed in the Registrars Court in the High Court of Australia in Sydney Australia.
By utilising shape and colour the designer has created a look that adds to the decor of the space. The panels comprise of 25mm thick heavy density Glasswool and the Sontext unique impact resistant membrane L32 and are installed using a aluminium split batten system.

Murano does the Job

Murano Wood Acoustic Ceiling panels were recently installed in an auditorium to refine the acoustic performance of the room. Using the Murano G16 grooved panel the acoustic consultant was able to create the prefect environment for Music and Theatre performance. The panels have been installed to carry the lights which besides being acoustic tools have become extremely functional as well.

Sonofonic Acoustic Panels

Sonofonic Acoustic Ceiling Panels were recently installed as part of an upgrade at the Australian Catholic University in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. This was a restoration of an old building into a Multipurpose hall that can be used for presentation nights, theatre productions or basketball games. Getting the acoustics right is critical and Sonofonic acoustic ceiling panels were used because of their high acoustic performance as well as the durability of the surface. The larger 1200x1200x20mm panels were used to achieve unique feel about the ceiling.

In conjunction with Serenity wall Panels a Total Acoustic solution was achieved.

Acoustic treatment in Multipurpose Hall

Murano Acoustic Wood Panels have been installed in the Bunyip Recreation Centre to reduce unwanted Noise. The situation would be that if Murano Acoustic Panels were not installed the hall would be so noisey it would be unbearable to have sport or any function inside.

The panels were installed by JR Pryor of Berwick Victoria Australia and were 2400*1200*18mm with 9mm holes at 16mm centres and were painted on site prior to installation. Murano Wood Acoustic Panels were backed with an Acoustic membrane to improve the acoustic performance.

Fabric or Wood finished acoustic panels

As a supplier of Decorative Acoustic Panels we are constantly amazed at the creativity of Interior designers. In the past if you wanted an acoustic panel it was a bit of foam fixed to the wall, great for recording studios but not for an upmarket hotel or restaurant.

Trends now are for highly decorative wood panels or a very rich looking upholstered fabric panel. While the choice of finish is almost unlimited there are implications for the acoustic performance of the panel.

The reason that sound absorbing panels are included into a room or space is to reduce unwanted echo or reduce noise. The choice of finish can create a totally different effect when installed. For example if the fabric is to thick it will not absorb sound in the desired way, it may even make things worse. In choosing wood panels it is important to leave an air gap behind the panel, while this will not affect the aesthetics it could change the sound performance of the room significantly.

Acoustic Treatment for Schools

Recently as part of the Australian Federal Government Stimulus package they have been allocating significant amounts of money to schools for Multi purpose Halls , Libraries and Music rooms.
Building these is only the start!
We have found that unless treatment for Sound reverberation is considered, the result can be a very noisy and sometimes unusable space.
By using an Acoustic Consultant or dealing with a company that specialises in the supply of Acoustic products you can end up either purchasing the wrong product or wasting a lot of money.
